Minced meat ½ cup Rice – uncooked 1 tsp Cloves ¼ tsp Pepper 1 pinch of Savory or Sage 1 Egg ¼ cup liquid (cream \ milk \ tomato juice \ consommé) 1 20 oz. tin Tomatoes Directions 1Take leaves one by one, put in sauce pan in rapidly boiling water (high heat) 2Boil 5 minutes – throw water out – spread leaves on linen. 3Mix 1 lb. minced beef with rice, cloves, pepper and a pinch of savory or sage. 4Add egg – beat until well blended 5Add liquid – beat till well mixed. 6Put a large tablespoon of mixture in each leaf. 7Fold leaf like an envelope – two ends on top. 8Chop ¼ cup cabbage- coarse – place in bottom of sauce pan. 9Put rolls on top folded side on top. 10Put plate with weight to hold them down. 11Pour on top hot tomato juice or water – or half juice and water. 12Add the tin of tomatoes and a bit of juice or water. 13Cover – bring to a boil – cook 1 to 1 ½ hours – cook slowly over low heat. 14If thick sauce is desired – add flour and butter in remaining sauce. close full screen 00:00 0 Reviews Cancel replyYour review ...All fields are required to submit a review.Your name ...
