Irene’s Lasagna

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

3/4 cup chopped onions

2 tbsp oil

1 can tomatoes (1lb)

2 6oz cans of tomato paste

2 cups water

1 tbsp fresh parsely

2 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp oregano

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 pkg of lasagna

ricotta cheese

morazella cheese

1 cup parmesean

Directions

Sauce

1In sauce pan add oil to bottom

2Cook ground beef in pot once cooked thoroughly add onions

3Continue to cook for 5-10 minutes until onions are beginning to look translucent

4Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, oil, sugar and garlic powder

5Continue to cook for about 30 minutes or until sauce starts to thicken.

Pasta

1In pot use water to cook lasagna noodles (not required if using oven ready noodles)

2Slightly salt water to prevent noodles from sticking

Preparation

1in a Pyrex dish 9"x13" line the bottom with small amount of sauce to cover bottom.

2Start layering Lasagna noodles, sauce, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese

3Keep enough sauce to be able to cover final layer with sauce

4Top with remaining parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.

Bake at 350° for 40-50 minutes

This recipe makes a small portion. You may want to consider either doubling or tripling the recipe to make a big dish.
