Pie Pastry Dough

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

I stick (2 cup) chilled or frozen butter

1/4 cup ice water

Directions

MAKING pie pastry in processor will convert the last holdout to this truly magic machine. The only secret: run your processor for the minimum time required to get results. Too much processing causes a tough crust.

1PLACE knife blade in processor. Add the flour and salt. Cut butter in pieces and add to bowl. Process until mixture resembles coarse meal; this should take no more than 10 seconds

2While the machine is still running, pour in the ice water. Stop processing as soon as mixture forms a ball on top of the blades.

3Refrigerate dough at least 1 hour before rolling out
